Resurrection Sunday

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, BUT HAS RISEN!
Luke 24:1-6 (emphasis added)

A few years ago, Wes and I had the incredible opportunity to go to Israel on a study tour. Here are a few interesting pictures from that trip...

The Via Dolorosa is a street within the Old City of Jerusalem held to be the path that Jesus walked, carrying his cross, on the way to his crucifixion.

This slab commemorates the place where Jesus' body would have been prepared for burial.

This the inside of a tomb. Some people believe this to be Jesus' actual tomb.

PRAISE THE LORD!

I couldn't wait to give out the Easter basket, so Wes and Bri got to see their goodies on Saturday. Bri learned how to put her eggs in and out of her basket. And, next year we will be able to have an official egg hunt!
Wes, of course, got all of the candy once again. He did share a VERY SMALL amount of chocolate with Bri...much to her mother's dismay.

We woke up Sunday morning and fixed a pancake breakfast and read the resurrection account from Matthew 27 and 28.
We went to our church to celebrate with our church family the perfect picture of LOVE displayed through Christ's death, burial and resurrection.

Sunday evening, we went to our good friend Tasha and Anthony's to have Easter dinner. We had a wonderful time reflecting on the goodness of Christ as we ate and had fellowship. The Lord has blessed us with an amazing family away from our home.

I pray that each of you had a beautiful Easter Sunday reflecting on the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, which by his death, now we may live.

It's Friday...but Sunday's coming!

“He was despised and rejected by men;
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief;
and as one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned every one to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

(Isaiah 53:3-6 ESV)
